Building on the success of Palm Jumeirah, Dubai embarked on the creation of another iconic island project—Palm Jebel Ali. The construction of Palm Jebel Ali began in late 2002, shortly after the completion of Palm Jumeirah. Originally, the project was set to be completed by the end of 2008, but the global financial crisis led to delays and pushed back the timeline.
Palm Jebel Ali, located near the border with Abu Dhabi, is set to be more than twice the size of Palm Jumeirah. Despite having fewer palm fronds, its design is more intricate, and it will feature a wider range of amenities and infrastructure. The island will offer 1,000 uniquely styled bungalows along the coastline and 2,000 luxury villas, with bespoke projects available for affluent clients.
